Accessibility, Washrooms & Other Amenities

Bowmanville Zoo’s walking paths are generally smooth and there are no stairs.  Wheelchairs, walkers or strollers are welcome and there are no stairs to traverse.  Our Animatheatre includes an Accessible Seating area which guests are welcome to ask any available staff member for access to.

Washrooms, including a baby-changing station & accessible stalls are located at the front of the zoo, connected to the Zoo Café year-round.
Additional washroom facilities, including accessible stalls, are available during July & August only, by visiting the Splash Bash or Show-stopper areas.

Kids need to burn off some energy?  We’ve got a little playground where you can sit down and relax while the kids play on the slides and in the sand pit.
Don’t forget, on a hot day, you can also take them over to Splash Bash to cool off while you sit down and take in some shade.

If you’ve brought your own lunch (don’t forget – no plastic!), we have plenty of shaded tables and grassy areas where you’re welcome to sit and picnic.
